1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
2/3 cup (5 fl.-oz. can) NESTLÉ CARNATION Evaporated Milk
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 cups miniature marshmallows
1 1/2 cups (9 oz.) NESTLÉ TOLL HOUSE Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels
1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
-Use foil to cover an 8-inch-square baking pan.
-In a medium, heavy-duty saucepan, mix together the sugar, evaporated milk, butter, and salt.
Bring to a full rolling boil while stirring constantly over medium heat.
Boil for 4 to 5 minutes while stirring all the time.
Take off the heat.
-Mix in the marshmallows, chocolate pieces, nuts, and vanilla extract.
Stir hard for 1 minute, or until marshmallows are completely melted.
Pour into the prepared baking pan and chill for at least 2 hours, or until firm.
Take out of pan and take off foil.
Divide into 48 parts.
FOR MILK CHOCOLATE FUDGE: -Substitute 1 3/4 cups (11.5-oz. pkg.)
Semi-Sweet Morsels for NESTLÉ TOLL HOUSE Milk Chocolate Morsels.
FOR BUTTERSCOTCH FUDGE:
-Instead of Semi-Sweet Morsels, use 1 2/3 cups (11 oz.) NESTLÉ TOLL HOUSE Butterscotch Flavored Morsels.
TO MAKE PECAN-CHOCOLATE FUDGE:
-Instead of Semi-Sweet Morsels, use 1 2/3 cups (11-ounce package) of NESTLÉ TOLL HOUSE Peanut Butter & Milk Chocolate Morsels and 1/2 cup chopped peanuts.
