Vinegar is the king of stain removers. Try these different formulas to remove a wide variety of stains.
Lightly rub the stains with a mixture of thirty  ml (two tablespoons) of salt and one hundred twenty five  ml (half cup) of white vinegar. Let dry, then vacuum.
For larger, darker stains, add thirty ml (two tbsp) of borax to this mixture, and use it the same way.
For deep, stubborn stains, make a paste of fifteen ml (1 tbsp) vinegar and fifteen ml (one tbsp) cornstarch, and rub it into the stain with a dry cloth. Let dry for two days, then vacuum.
For paint splatters, use a solution of seven ml (1 half tsp) vinegar, seven ml (1 1/2 tsp) laundry detergent and five hundred ml (2 cups) water. Wash paint stains before they dry and rinse with cold water.
For fruit juice stains, mix fifteen ml (one tbsp) of detergent, twenty five ml (1 ½ tbsp) of vinegar and five hundred ml (two cups) of water. Apply this solution to stains & pat dry.
For coffee stains, mix equal parts water and white vinegar, then apply this solution to the stains.
Cornstarch
The tile: an ink stain on the carpet! In this case, a little spilled milk might cause you to swallow your tears. Mix milk and cornstarch to make a paste. Let this mixture dry on the carpet for a few hours, then brush off the dry residue and vacuum. Cornstarch is also great for absorbing grease and oil stains. Sprinkle stains liberally, leave for a few hours, then vacuum.
